FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS
When evil was threatening to destroy Esther and all her people. A plea came to her for such a time as this. Her response was. Get in serious tune with God. What are you doing in your day to get in tune with him. Are you praying, fasting, and reading His Word. Can we not see that the enemy wants to destroy us. Find a friend to pray, fast, and read with for such a time as this. Bonnie

Our Muffins
Today me and Alena made muffins. I pulled out the stuff to make muffins and she said, "I want to help." I thought to myself, "no let me get this done," but I said, "ok". She measured my flour and poured the ingredients in the bowl for me. When the dough was ready she rolled her own little ball out and made her own muffins. What a great day with Alena. Here is the recipe
YOU MAY WANT TO HALF THIS RECIPE. I MADE 30 MUFFINS. And if you don't be prepare to have several skillets read to cook them or they will rise to much before you can cook the last ones.
English Muffins
6 c. flour(I used half whole wheat flour )
2 tablespoons yeast
2 T. Sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 c. water
cornmeal
Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, soda. Heat milk and water until very warm, 115 degrees. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in remaining 3 cups flour; knead five minutes, let rise until double, about an hour. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter. Sprinkle cookie sheet with cornmeal and place muffin on sheet to rise until double, about 30 minutes. Sprinkle cornmeal on top of muffins. Cook in a cast iron pan on top of stove on medium heat seven minutes. Turn and cook seven more minutes. It is kind of tricky getting the right heat under the skillet. I like to put a cover on the pan to hold in the heat and sometimes I move them around to keep the middle ones from browning to fast. Now you can make egg mcmuffins or spread cream cheese and jam on them. Refrigerate after cooled and take them out, cut open, butter, and toast in skillet when you want a yummy food. My first post.
For such a time as this. This is what I think about when I see all this new technology. I spoke with a friend the other day about what our desires are and were, we once had a desire to live in the way that people lived long ago. The desire to live simple without all the technology. I would watch movies that betrayed that life and want to be in that time. We both realize that today is not yesterday and for such a time as this, God has allowed all this. We are where we are in time and place. God has blessed us with so many opportunities. I know we must always be cautious to use the things he has provided for us for His honor and glory, but hasn't that always been the case with every generation. I feel every generation has been a little taken over by technology: from scrolls, to the printing press, to typewriters, then electric typewriters, and now computers and the Internet, WOW! So for such a time as this I have created a Blog for our family to share our God. He was the reason for the first scrolls and is still the reason. So I want to share how He is growing us, and give encouragement to others by sharing ideas and lessons He shows us. What a wonderful opportunity of sharing. From good links, to ministries, to learning and growing. So, for such a time as this, here goes. You will see some very back to basic things on this site but know that while we enjoy these things we also enjoy the technology we have. We just want to make the best of where God has us and be prepared for change if and when it happens. We know we are not promised anything tomorrow as far as technology goes, and we could find ourselves without all this. So while we enjoy the technology we understand we should not lose the ideas that made our forefathers be able to survive. We love to study about the past and learn and even experience some of the things they did. Some of these things you just can't improve on, like fresh milk from a goat in your backyard, or fresh baked bread. The new store bought stuff just doesn't compare to the homemade, home grown stuff. So while technology is good sometimes used in the wrong way it is not good. Let us always be mindful of how we use the resources God has provided for us, and to be content in whatever state He has us in. So, for such a time as this, here goes, The Mike Senn Family blog.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound; everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:12 and 13
